Man…. I’ve been slacking.
Yup… I said it.
This website was supposed to be done by the end of July, maybe the beginning of August at the latest. Everything was supposed to be ready and the business was supposed to be moving. I had a timeline in my head, and somewhere along the way as always ….. life looked at that timeline and laughed.
Life has been kicking my butt... but honestly that aint no dang excuse. Life is always going to life and what i need to learn to do is keep it moving and keep on task.
It has just been so hard to find balance. Working my 9-5, being a mom, maintaining a home, showing up as a partner, taking care of myself somewhere in between all that, and still finding enough energy to build the life I dream about has been… a lot.
But I also don’t think I give myself enough credit for how much I have been trying to carry.
But I also don’t want that realization to become another excuse…
The truth is, building this website has been harder than I expected.
Working on a web builder I’ve never used before. Every little thing feels like a learning process. Most times I have found myself staring at the screen like it personally offended me.
I am not a techie person. Like I am cause I’m gon figure it out… but also when my brain gets overwhelmed, it gets overwhelmed fast.
Sometimes I can look directly at something and feel like I should understand it, but my brain just refuses to process what I’m seeing. I’ll click around, get frustrated, close everything out, come back later, try again, and somehow the second or third time it finally starts to make sense.
And that can be extremely discouraging.
Because when you care this much about something, struggling with the smallest pieces can make you question whether you’re capable of pulling off the bigger picture.
But I am.
I know I am.
Maybe I don’t know how to do everything yet.
Maybe I’m learning slower than I wish I was.
Maybe Ive fallen behind the timeline I originally created for myself.
But I am still here.
Still learning.
Still creating.
Still figuring it out.
And most importantly, I am not giving up!
I have come too far to let frustration be the reason I stop now.
This dream matters too much to me.
I’ve spent too much time imagining what this business could become, what it could mean for me, what it could mean for the people who eventually find themseleves here.
So I need to keep pushing.
Not in a way that destroys me.
Not in a way that makes me forget I am human and a 1 women show.
In a way that reminds me that sometimes discipline has to carry me when motivation disappears… and lord knows me and discipline are not that cool but we gon get there!
So my deadline is my birthday 9/27/26!
By my birthday, this business will be alive.
Not perfect.
Not some flawless version.
But open and existing!
So yes, girl you been slacking… yes life has been ALOT.
But none of that changes what I want.
No more moving the goalpost.
It’s time to make this happen!
